Aotea stone, sometimes known as blue stone, is comprised of an extremely rare mixture of Kyanite (blue), Fuchsite (Green) and Quartz (white), along with a small amount of other associate minerals. Aotea stone generally only originates from a small valley in South Westland, New Zealand. It is an extremely prized and rare stone, a much rarer stone than New Zealand greenstone and forms part of the pounamu legends. Spiritually it is a very feminine stone, as it helps heal the goddess aspect within the individual.
